Gothmist Reviews: Massholia

Massholia

It’s Shake and Bake and I helped.

On Saturday Jonfoss and I went to an exhibit inspired by New York in the 1970s. It had some great photographs, but you know what wasn’t quite as great? The film they showed at the end of the exhibit that at first seemed like a cheesy montage of New York cityscapes set to music but then turned into a movie about 9/11, complete with simulated images of planes crashing into buildings and seats that shook upon said simulated impact. THE SEATS SHOOK!
Jonfoss had just gotten a new cell phone and didn’t know how to shut it off properly…the poor thing thought that he had set his phone to vibrate and it was just really powerful. But no. We watched what would have been called M.O.M. (the Motion Odyssey Movie Ride, of course) had it been located at Jordans Furniture in Natick, Massachusetts. But at Jordans, they simulate things like Rollercoasters….WHEEE! Not terrorism…WHAAA?
So THAT is what I have been doing for the past 2 days, trying to figure out who thought that was a good idea and why it was installed next to images of Debbie Harry and Steve Rubell. I’m still workin’ on it.
